Each week we seek to provide a few links to thought-provoking articles from around the world. But we also like to publish local contributions from time to time.
If you have an idea for an article, illustration or short video (5 minutes max) relevant in some way to Jews, or Israel, or on a topic that is, or should be, relevant to socially aware Australian Jews as members of Australian society as a whole, please use our contact details to submit a brief but informative description of the scope of your intended work or works. A small paragraph per idea would be sufficient. If we like it, we’ll let you know. If you haven’t heard from us in a week, please feel free to send a follow up email.
We prefer 600-800 word articles (or thereabouts) but will consider longer submissions, or a series of related shorter pieces.
Articles should be in Times 12 font, 1.5 spacing and in DOC or DOCX format and may be edited for clarity or length. They should be accompanied by a headshot (in JPEG format), a twitter username, if you have one, and a 2-3 line biographical note, written in the third person. No attachments, other photographs or internal hyperlinks should be included unless specifically discussed with and agreed by us.
Legal stuff – but important
In consideration of plus61J Pty Limited ACN 604 216 579 (“the publisher”) agreeing to consider anything you submit and to publish it if it decides to, in its sole discretion, you represent and warrant to the publisher, and to each of its representatives for those purposes from time to time, that it is your own work, is not defamatory, and does not breach any law or any third party’s rights, and you grant the publisher, free of any charge, royalty or licence fee, for the full term of any copyright (including renewals, extensions and reversions), a non-exclusive right and licence to publish it, with or without editing and a summary description by its representatives, and to archive it and to republish it on the website and on affiliated websites and in any electronic, social or print media operated by the publisher now or hereafter, this agreement to be governed and interpreted by the laws applicable in New South Wales, to which jurisdiction you and the publisher irrevocably submit.
