Tel Aviv police beating sparks calls for ‘soul-searching’ – The Times of Israel 23.05.16
The victim, an Israeli Arab supermarket worker, was not shown evidence that the plainclothes men asking him for ID were policemen. Police statement accuses the Arab of attacking the policemen. Super Yuda owner Kobi Cohen said officers had hit Alqian ‘mercilessly until he was incapacitated. Everyone is shocked by what happened. And there’s only one reason for it — the guy was an Arab.’

A person’s clearest and most basic rights to privacy, freedom, and dignity are all being brutally trampled upon.’
