My argument isn’t really about Barghouti at all. It’s that acts of violence, even horrific violence, don’t necessarily invalidate the cause of the people who commit them.

It’s about basic human rights that even prisoners, even prisoners who are members of the other nation, deserve. And it speaks to Palestinians outside the regular prisons, where Israel has created all kinds of other means of imprisoning Palestinians.
