‘I buried my negatives in the ground‘

‘I buried my negatives in the ground in order that there should be some record of our tragedy.’ The photographs of Henryk Ross. – Chloe Coleman – The Washington Post 06.03.17
Ross, a Jew, was one of at least 160,000 people held in the Lodz Ghetto in Poland. Officially, he was forced to work as a photographer for the Jewish Administration’s statistics department. Unofficially, at great personal danger, he documented the cruel truth of life under Nazi rule.
