Meir Turgeman, Jerusalem’s Deputy Mayor and chair of its planning and building board, also shelves all construction plans for East Jerusalem and calls for dividing Palestinian neighbourhoods from rest of Jerusalem. Mayor says remarks don’t reflect municipal policy.
