Housing Ministry working on plans for 55,548 settlement homes - Peace Now – The Times of Israel 28.12.15
Projects worth US$85m in the works, mostly initiated while Uri Ariel (Habayit Hayehudi) was Housing Minister, according to data collated by Settlement Watch. About half is for construction east of the West Bank Separation Barrier. Includes expansion of smaller settlements into bigger towns, more than 8,000 units in E1 area, two brand-new settlements and retrospective legalisation of at least six illegal outposts. Ministry also funded illegal construction contrary to state attorney’s explicit instructions. Current Minister denies any plans to build in E1.

Ministry documents obtained after court petition show that what Netanyahu has publicly denied has been going on in secret. ‘Planning that contradicts any possible commitment to a two-state solution, continues to the present day.’
