Proponents of religious-messianic nationalism, key partners in the Israeli government, are making a dangerous mistake by trying to claim all of Mandatory Palestine on the basis of a divine promise made in the Bible. In doing so they axiomatically deny the legitimacy of others – Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims - and undermine the historical, political, legal and moral validity that underpins the Zionist narrative and served as the basis for the establishment of the State of Israel.
