‘Arab world won’t go for Israeli diplomatic blitz, and Netanyahu knows it’ – Raphael Ahren – The Times of Israel 19.07.16
The Arab world has long conditioned normalised ties with Israel on a solution to the Palestinian conflict. Netanyahu appears to be trying to reverse the process but the Arab Peace Initiative is conditioned on resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Gregory Gause, an expert on Saudi Arabia, says Jerusalem’s vision of Arab states normalising ties with Israel first and then pressuring Ramallah is doomed to fail, and little more than a bid to buy time.

Poll: majority of Israelis attach little importance to relations with Palestinian Authority; view Egypt as crucial
- Ruthie Blum - The Algemeiner 21.06.16

The bad news, however, is that more than half of the public attaches little importance, if at all, to cooperation with the PA. This completely ignores the understanding that open and continual cooperation with Arab countries, particularly the Gulf States, will exist only with real progress made in finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.’

If Paris goes ahead with peace summit, I doubt we’ll be there, says Israel’s Foreign Ministry chief
– Raphael Ahren - The Times of Israel 21.07.16
Dore Gold on Abbas (dabbles in the total denial of Jewish history), settlements (not a block to peace), and ties with the Arab world (the Saudis aren’t about to open an embassy in Jerusalem, but…)
