Major General (res.) Amiram Levin is a former commander of Sayeret Matkal (a special forces unit of the IDF) and former commander of the IDF Northern Command and deputy of the Mossad.

The campaign against the Israeli Left continues: why did Channel 2 air a segment that paints Breaking the Silence as a traitorous organisation that peddles in state secrets? Breaking the Silence is a professional organisation comprised of former soldiers, over one thousand of whom have provided testimonies. It prides itself on meticulously scrutinising and filtering testimonies and testifiers. And it only publishes things it has confirmed are true and that have passed through the IDF Censor.

All such tactics have the same goal: to divert discussion from the injustices that left-wing organisations expose into a debate over the organisations themselves. To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever refuted the testimonies of Breaking the Silence, and no doubt has been cast on the veracity of its reports. The fake ‘testimonies’ of imposters, including MK Oren Hazan (Likud), have never been published because they were found to be unreliable.
